That is my little poem that shares some of my feelings and thoughts. Life with Brody is challenging to say the least. However, he has given me a new outlook on life and I am a better person because of him. Having an autistic child has definitely changed me for the better.
Here is my sweet Brody. I mean look at that grin. How could that not make you smile? And those freckles…adorable!
Brody with his little (big) brother, Blake. They were actually both in my lap in this picture on a snow day from school. Love these moments!
This is our entire family on a recent trip to Disney World. We had a great time and Brody was very well behaved (until he chewed up him and his brother’s new sandals…that’s another story. 😉 )
Thank you for letting me share. 😀

Writing poetry is my hobby and passion, and this is beautiful, and from the depths of your heart (as poetry should be). I happened to be looking at all the free apps on SmartAppsForKids.com today, and on PAGE 3, there were many, many free apps from the "Autism Series", usually $4.99 each, but free today. Maybe this would be useful somehow to you or someone else reading your incredible post. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you for the heads up on the apps! We bought him an Ipad recently and have been looking for more apps for him!

THANK YOU for sharing this incredibly sweet poem and personal insight into your life! Wow! I have served 1-2 autistic children each year I've been teaching. I am always looking to learn more about them and how best to serve them where they are!

Thank you for your kind words! Brody is a handful for sure, but such a blessing!

Wonderful poem! I have worked with special needs children for 35 years and can't think of anything else I would rather do. I have several students in the autism spectrum in my classroom. They are all unique! I love them and enjoy watching them grow and learn new things. Your Brody is lucky to have you!
Jennifer Findley says
Thank you so much, Cynthia! I feel lucky to have him in my life. He is our angel!

Beautiful family. I have been teaching over 25 years. My son has autism and it has been a roller coaster. We are fortunate he is bright and he attends our local community college for two classes a semester. I am sure he will be home with us for a long time. We are uncertain about the future too. He has my heart and devotion. I wish you all the best.

Hi Marcia, thank you for your comments. It can definitely be difficult at times. Knowing we are not alone in our journey makes a huge difference!
