Division is by far one of the most difficult skills to teach students. The process is lengthy and requires strong number sense. There is also so much room for error that it can be quite frustrating for the students (and teachers!)
Last week, I put together this packet of FREE repetitive division practice to keep my kids practicing division even after we have moved on to other concepts. As much as I would love to teach the skill and then move away (as far away as possible…haha) from it, I know that I need to continue providing consistent division practices to continue mastery and strengthen fluency.
Many of you have grabbed this free division resource already and left some really nice feedback (Thank you so much!) I wanted to do a quick blog post about them so that others could grab them up and hopefully get some much needed daily practice for their kiddos.
Each page requires the students to label the terms in a division problem, solve the division problem (15 pages for 1 Digit Divisors and 15 pages for 2 Digit Divisors), check their answers with multiplication (A little self checking never hurt anyone!) and create a story problem with the division equation. I have used this resource for morning work, class work, and homework. It really helps having this go to resource of division practice to pull from throughout the year to continue practicing this tricky skill.
