All year I have been trying to think of a way to make data tracking fun and engaging for my students. My students are a lower group this year, so I needed a tracking system that was super easy and super motivating at the same time.
After seeing a cupcake printout in the copy room, I had a great idea to design a tracking system around cupcakes! I worked with my good friend Lacey at The Fabulous Life of an Elementary Teacher and this was born:

I have also included a few options for use depending on how you want to track the data and what point system you use. Here are the options:
I have also included some miscellaneous printables for you to have your kids reflect on their learning and graph their learning at certain intervals.
Here is how I am organizing my data tracking system. Each child has a clear report cover (I purchased a box of 50 for $18.99 at my local office store.). I store these in a special basket in my room to keep them from being torn or misplaced. There are a few more options for organizing and displaying mentioned in the resource.
What system are you using to track data? How are you making engaging and student friendly?
So flipping cute! Right now we are just tracking test scores (bar graphs)-pre and post for spelling and theme tests (as well as our morning math answers). This would be amazing! 4th grade please!!! 🙂

The LandAirSea SilverCloud is more expensive up front, but offers greater control and more granularity with its reporting, and it's all available on the Web for easy access. Fleet Automation
This is awesome! I love it! I teach in Nebraska, and they haven't adopted Common Core yet, but I hear that we are close… I definitely plan to share this with my fifth grade team- I know that they will love it, too!
I love this idea! The cupcakes are adorable and useful. I would love to purchase but I don't teach 5th gr so CCSS code and standards won't work for me. I am special ed and need many different standards and codes for my students different levels. Have you thought of making a blank one that I could fill in to fit each child?
Love this idea. Would love to see one for THIRD grade since that is what I teach. Also, I am interested in how you keep track of student progress with each standard and how much data to you collect to warrant a student meeting the standard.
Thank you,
This is awesome! the cupcake is very good.
