Free Simple, Compound, and Complex Sentences Task Cards – Printable
This free set of task cards helps students practice identifying and creating simple, compound and complex sentences. This is a perfect review activity after your students have been introduced to all three types and need a review or refresher.
There are 40 printable task cards (in color and in black and white) included in this free resource.
Throughout the task cards, the students will be asked to:
- Identify if a given sentence is simple, compound, or complex
- Create a compound sentence from a simple sentence.
- Create a complex sentence from a simple sentence.
Free Simple, Compound, and Complex Sentences – Digital Activities
The same printable task cards are also included as engaging digital activities.
The questions and content are the SAME as the printable task cards. However, the digital version of these task cards have been redesigned to have students complete more interactive activities when identifying sentence types.
For example, instead of circling the correct sentence type, the students will drag a fish to the bowl labelled with the correct sentence type. Students may also move check marks to indicate their responses.
Use the digital simple, compound, and complex sentence activities to keep your students engaged and motivated to review and practice the skills.
